Excellent Traditional Japanese Food @ NORI, Lisbon

There's a restaurant we can't help frequenting whenever we find our way over to Lisbon lately. It's a small location, a bit out of the way, and we happened upon it one afternoon while looking for some lunch while we were in the neighbourhood.

Truth be told, there are a lot of restaurants in Lisbon that I would visit every so often, but when I find one that I actually crave going to between visits, I know I've hit on something special, and that's the case here, at Nori Japanese Restaurant.

There are a few dishes we've had over and over again - but we've taken detours on the menu with regards to quite a few entres and side dishes, and all have been absolutely fantastic.

Insofar as the main course goes - Thomas' absolute favourite is the Spicy Ramen TanTan Men -

It's a traditional TanTan base ramen with deep sesame flavour that he grabs with chicken - and he officially gets this dish every time we eat there. To be honest, I'm not much of a ramen girl. I like it, but it's not my favourite.

Still, I can see myself grabbing this dish. It is absolutely delicious and has so much flavour to it, it's hard not to fall in love with.

Insofar as my favourite on the menu, it's a Tori Katsu Curry with rice, I believe - being a breading-and-rice kinda gal myself -

Absolutely delicious. And quite a large meal, portion-wise, which is just what I need most days.

If I absolutely cannot handle that much food on any given day, I've also grabbed the Tori Karaage before -

So incredibly filling and delicious. And I'll usually grab it with a side of their extra-tantalizing dumplings.

Sides-wise we have also tried many other things on the menu, but the dumplings are my favourite.

My main dish also comes with a side of miso soup, so that's plenty of variety for me.

I fully believe you can't go wrong with anything you order on the menu, and if you order a meal (especially if you go the curry route), there's plenty enough portion-wise to get you full.

Of course, I would opt for having at least one side, especially if you go for the dumplings, but that's because they are so ridiculously good, and not because you will need it.

Overall, a 10/10 restaurant in my books. I only wish it was located near my neck of the woods, in Cascais, so I could frequent it more regularly!
